Azkadilla finds her target...

Azkadilla stepped from the flying creature, nodded to the flight master and grimaced at the smell. Inevitable City, home of the Chaos Lord and all manner of things that fill children?s nightmares. She must not forget her purpose. Summoning her Cold one she mounted and headed for the Viper?s pit, perhaps she would find him there and she could return to the war front quickly.

The Viper?s Pit, home of the most vile and most cunning, a meeting place for the members of Destruction, Azkadilla shrugged, better than a rain filled gutter perhaps. The deafening roar of screaming uneducated Orcs was absent from the inner chambers of the place this morning. They, the Orcs that is, might actually be participating in the War, instead of just screaming the word today, she thought. The place was normally filled with the races of the alliance, but not today, the vendors even looked subdued. That suited her purpose, finding this Zealot would prove less time consuming. Khaine expected all his Brides to participate in the ritualistic slaying of the unbelieving, particularly those foolish High Elves.

Thirty minutes of unproductive question asking in the Viper?s Pit, ?He had just left?, ?He was here, I saw him?, ?Nope haven?t seen him today?, ?Mork?no gota Zealot?he gota me? were just some of the answers she had heard, most distressing. The Sorceress she had spoken to however had mentioned the Auction Broker. She would pursue the lead, already the stench of the city was beginning to annoy her, the city might have beautiful architecture, but it was still a city of the dead or dying or worse.

Entering the Apex, or center of the city, four staircases, one from each direction of the compass, several meters wide arose from the floor of the Apex. Twenty feet into the air the stairways merged onto a platform where the Chaos Lord?s faithful fueled a fire they claimed was eternal. Perhaps those flames provided the stench, she really didn?t care one way or the other, she needed to find that Zealot. The nearly deserted auction house provided no clue to his whereabouts. The hopes of a quick departure from the City of Chaos began slipping away.

Happenstance then reared its head and she saw the one she sought leaving the vault. Cascabel, Zealot of Ebonlore. It was to him Khaine had sent her. Her form faded into nothingness as she became one with her surroundings and followed the servant of Chaos. Using her prowess of stealth she followed him to a small apothecary shop on the far side of the city. Once he entered the shop she dropped her veil of shadows and followed him inside.

Interrupting his conversation with the proprietor, Azkadilla spoke from the doorway ?You are the Zealot, Cascabel of Ebonlore.? It was not a question but an announcement.

Cascabel sighed loud enough that it was probably heard all the way to Norsca. One thing he had learned in this alliance of races, Dark Elves needed to learn some manners. He finished his business with the shop owner before turning to address the beautiful scantily clad Witch Elf. ?Your attitude would improve young woman, if your kind wore more clothing. What is it you want?

She almost laughed out loud at his arrogance, instead she grinned and replied, ?The wishes of Khaine are beyond the grasp of mere mortals as you or I Zealot. Khaine himself has sent me in search of you. I wish to become a member of Ebonlore.?

Cascabel scoffed. ?There have been many who wish to do just that young woman. As with all things, there are requirements.? Seeing the displeasure in her face he continued. ?Did you become a bride of Khaine simply by asking? I doubt it. Walk with me and I shall attempt to enlighten you in the ways to perfection.?

?Khaine? she said with enough venom that had it been one of her blades he surely would have perished. She followed him through the doorway into the city. He explained many things of and about Ebonlore. First and foremost in her mind, the commitment and honor of Ebonlore itself stuck with her throughout his ramblings. She knew why Khaine had sent her to Ebonlore.

?Those are the basics young woman. As with Khaine, we seek those that are worthy. There is a period of adjustment, a trial, or an apprenticeship, if you will. Just because you ask doesn?t mean you will be admitted.? Cascabel said as they drew close to the flight master.

?I am not afraid? she replied.

?Oh you will be. You will be? he said with a wide grin as he paid the flight master and mounted. ?We will speak again Witch Elf. The Lord of Chaos has plans for us all.?

?Humans!? was all she spat before asking the flight master for a mount to Avelorn.

Strong RP...

Not to be picky, considering the writing is pretty bomb - in-fact smokes anything I could possibly conjure but!

I highly doubt a servant of Tzeentch (Casc) would make such a noble reference to Khaine... The Chaos Followers arn't to fond of the God of murder.

Very nice Casc:) very nice indeed

slight disagreement with Lashan, but its pretty much wrote that Khaine is just the incarnation of Khorne that the dark elves worship... Think about it; hes described as the Bloody Handed God, and all his aspects have to deal with blood and death.

Khaine = Murder/Assassination/Strategic war

Khorne = Battle/Destruction/Genocide

While similar Khaine is NOT the same as Khorne. Khaine embodies carefully planned murder and ritualistic bloodletting and sacrifice. Khorne is simply destruction and battle for the sake of itself. Think of the difference in the typical offerings to either god: Khaine demands blood, whereas Khorne demands skulls. Khaine is more subtle than Khorne.

Now if you wanna look at WH:40K lore you see that during the Fall of the Eldar, Khaine was one of the few of the Elven pantheon that survived the birth of Slaanesh, but he was severely weakened. Khorne saw Khaine as a useful tool to add to his repertoire so he fought Slaanesh for the right to "own" Khaine. So in 40K lore at least we can see that indeed Khaine has never been, is not, and never will be the same entity as Khorne despite similarities.
